It starts with the fabric.

Every bandana I make begins as someone else's leftover. Remnant cuts from fabric stores. End-of-bolt yardage that didn't sell. Donations from people cleaning out their sewing rooms. Fabric that was heading for the landfill. I take it in, sort it, and turn it into something a dog gets to wear.

That means every single bandana is completely one-of-a-kind — different on both sides, made from something that had a life before, and about to start a new one around a dog's neck.

The rescue connection.

Here's the part I'm most proud of: 10% of every order goes to a local dog rescue organization. One you pick. Right in your community, where you know which dogs need the help most.

It started with a simple belief: everything deserves a second chance. Rescued fabric. Rescue dogs. Both get one here.

Why this exists.

I'm based in Central Virginia, and I started Scrappy Tails because I couldn't stand watching good fabric get thrown away. One scrap turned into a bandana. One bandana turned into a booth at a local market. One market turned into this.

We're not a big operation. There's no warehouse, no bulk orders, no factory somewhere making thousands of the same thing. It's just me, a pile of rescued fabric, and a sewing machine — making something worth looking at twice for dogs who deserve the same.

Three ways to wear it.

Every bandana comes in one of three styles, because dogs (and their people) aren't all built the same:

• Over the Collar — slides onto the collar they already wear. No tying, no knots working loose.
• Snap Collar — comes with its own adjustable collar built in. Nothing has to come off first.
• Scrunchie Collar — soft elastic that pulls right over the head. Perfect for the harness crowd.

Pick the one that fits your dog. Or your patience level at 7am.

What we stand for.

Second chances. For fabric heading to the landfill. For dogs waiting in a rescue. For the idea that something small and handmade can mean something.

Honesty. We tell you where the fabric comes from, what it costs, and exactly how to measure your dog. No surprises.

Community. We show up at local markets. We donate to local rescues. We'd rather be part of your neighborhood than just a package on your porch.

Making things well. Every bandana is cut and sewn by hand. That takes longer. It's worth it.
